The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH2 Digital Camera features a newly developed 28mm wide-angle high quality Leica DC VARIO-ELMAR lens with 4x optical zoom (35mm camera equivalent: 28-112mm) into a slim, compact body. Also, features a 1/2.33-inch CCD with effective 14.1-megapixel high-resolution. It can record motion images in high-definition. The pixel mixed readout method enables bright motion-image recording even in low-light settings. Also records standard motion images in VGA (640 x 480 pixels at 30 fps) and QVGA (320 x 240 pixels at 30 fps).
It gives you a new form of communication by letting you share your photos and movies. All you have to do is checkmark the photos and movies you want to share and connect the camera or SD/SDHC/SDXC Memory Card to a computer. The large 2.7-inch LCD features high 230,000-dot resolution Intelligent LCD. It automatically adjusts the brightness in 11 steps according to shooting conditions. The Scene Mode lets the camera make the optimal settings for you automatically, so anybody can take superb photos with ease.
Take photos even when you don't have an SD/SDHC/SDXC Memory Card on hand. The built-in memory holds up to approx. 70MB of image data, which you can later copy to an SD/SDHC/SDXC Memory Card or computer. FEATURES: The high-speed, high-performance Venus Engine VI is incorporated to enable the recording of beautiful images with higher quality signal processing including the Intelligent Resolution technology The Sonic Speed AF system includes numerous re-engineering enhancements, including a higher-speed actuator, optimized algorithms and parallel software processing.
The result is fast and accurate AF performance When you don't know which mode will give you the best shooting results, simply choose the iA (Intelligent Auto) Mode and let the camera do it all for you

Nevertheless, it's still a decent camera to consider if your budget is $200 and you only want to capture happy snaps and shoot the odd video. |
| cameralabs | Aside from more pixels in a more compact form though, we can't help but feel that FS18 / FH5 has little else to offer that's new. It's great to see 720p video, but the FS11 already had that. What's left is AF tracking, a little more internal memory, Intelligent exposure, Intelligent resolution and slighly faster performance, all welcome, but incremental improvements. The FS18 / FH5 is an excellent camera, but it lacks the freshness that features like Smart shutter, Face self time, Live View cotnrol and Creative filters have brought to the Canon PowerShot A-series. So while it earns a Recommended award, we'd strongly suggest closely comparing it against the only slightly pricier Canon PowerShot A3300 IS. |
