  • Take a leading role in the development of DRR strategy
  • Oversee implementation and monitoring of DRR activities
  • Ensure budget preparation, project and FLA preparation of DRR project if and when necessary.
  • Undertake contingency planning related to cyclone, flooding, landslides and fire using participatory methods in consultation with communities
  • Undertake disaster risk vulnerability mapping in the camps that BRAC have site management mandate, and to share findings with relevant sector leads as well as advice on preparedness actions
  • Review the humanitarian programme with a DRR lens and advices teams on how to mainstream DRR in their activities
  • Carry out capacity building/ training for the various sectors within BRAC on DRR
  • Represent BRAC in sectoral coordination meetings both at COX'S Bazar and at the camp level on DRR issues
  • Ensure periodic report to Management and Donor and contribute to BRAC's learning
  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme's goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor in Disaster Management/ Development Studies or any other relevant field from any recognised university
